Track cravings, including the ones you beat

Puff Zero lets you record a craving as it happens β€” how strong it was, what was going on, and whether you vaped or rode it out. Logging the cravings you resisted matters as much as the ones you did not: it is the only record that shows you are getting better at this, which a puff count alone will never tell you.

Why log a craving you resisted

A puff counter records what you did. It has nothing to say about the times you wanted to and did not, which on a hard day may be the only thing that actually went well.

Tracking resisted cravings gives you a second line on the graph, and it tends to move earlier than the puff count does. That is often the first concrete evidence that something is working.

What a check-in captures

How intense the craving was, what was happening, how you were feeling, and what you did about it.

Over time this shows the shape of your cravings β€” when they cluster, how strong they typically are, and whether that is changing.

Cravings are time-limited

Individual cravings tend to peak and subside over a matter of minutes rather than persisting indefinitely. That is the practical case for having something to do during one, whether that is a check-in, a conversation with Puffy, or simply watching the clock.

Withdrawal symptoms more broadly usually peak in the first week after stopping and ease over the following weeks, though this varies between people.

What Puff Zero doesn't do

  • Craving intensity is self-rated and subjective β€” useful for spotting your own trend, not comparable between people.
  • Puff Zero does not treat nicotine dependence and is not a substitute for a stop-smoking service or clinical support.
  • How long cravings last varies considerably between individuals; any timeline is a general pattern, not a prediction for you.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a vaping craving last?
Individual cravings typically peak and pass over a few minutes rather than lasting indefinitely, though frequency and intensity vary between people and tend to decrease over the weeks after quitting.
Should I log a craving if I didn't vape?
Especially then. Resisted cravings are the clearest evidence of progress, and they are invisible in a puff count.
Does tracking cravings make them worse?
A check-in takes seconds and is designed to be done during a craving rather than dwelt on. If logging is making things harder for you, it is fine to track puffs only.
